Vikram as 18-year old boy

Remember superstar Suriya's much-acclaimed portrayal as a teenager in master romantic film maker Gautam Menon's Vaaranam Aayiram? National award winning actor Vikram is also attempting a similar feat in his upcoming Tamil film Deiva Thirumagan, being directed by Madarasapattinam fame Vijay.

According to sources, Vikram has performed some scenes as an 18-year old boy in Deiva Thirumagan. Reportedly, the actor had a rigorous diet and workout to fit into the character of a young boy. Since the makers want to keep this as a surprise element, they have not yet released posters or stills revealing the actor's teenage act. However, we already know that Vikram will appear as Muthu, a man suffering with a mental disorder, and his struggle to bring up his daughter is the basic storyline of the film.

Deiva Thirumagan features Anushka, Amala Paul and Santhanam in the key roles. Camera is by Nirav, music by G.V. Prakash, art by Selva and editing by Anthony. The movie is expected to hit screens in June 2011.
