Joker release postponed

Akshay Kumar wants nothing but the best for his VFX laden Joker now. To ensure that the results indeed match international standards that the film vouches for, he along with Shirish Kunder and UTV had a closed door meeting just hours back. It was then mutually decided to give another 15 days to the film so that the final results are spectacular.

Informs our source, "Akshay is on a career high after Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore's super success. Joker isn't just another film for him. With this film, he wants to deliver yet another super success and also show the world that Bollywood can come up with a film with world class VFX and 3D. That was the starting point for him to sign the film anyways. Now with Shirish showing him results of how the product is shaping up, he wants him to go all out and make it special. He doesn't mind waiting a fortnight longer."

For UTV, it was a crucial business call to be made since they have a lineup of films ahead. However, looking at the way their Rowdy Rathore with Akshay is raking in moolah, they are okay to wait as long as the returns are heartening enough.

"Akshay is turning out to be a Rs. 100 crore churning machine. He is all set to score his second after Housefull 2. Now with Joker, he could well be aiming at a hat trick", says another source from the production team.

When contacted, Shirish confirmed that the film would now arrive on September 14.
