Taskaraveeran release stayed

Mammootty must be rueing his decision to give dates to small time producer like Vindhyan and Celebrate Films the distributors of Taskaraveeran. This film has been caught in financial mess and could not make it to the theatres on the promised date due to a court order.

Now Taskaraveeran will take time to get released. Vindhyan, had last produced Mullavalliyum Thenmavum which was a colossal flop which was distributed by Celebrate Films. Vindhyan had an outstanding with the distributor which he said he will make up with Taskaraveeran.

To make matters more, complicated Celebrate Films themselves were in big financial mess and had borrowed money from a Chennai based financier Pankaj Mehta. Mehta managed to get a stay on the release of the film until his dues are settled.

Hectic talks are going on between the producer, distributor and financier to bring an amicable settlement and release the film by May 27 before the monsoon season starts in Kerala. No wonder that Mammootty and Mohanlal prefer to give dates to big distributors and make sure that their films will make it to the halls on the scheduled date.
