Surya's new: 'Vaaranamaayiram'

'Vaaranamaayiram' is the 2nd film from the dream team of director Gautham Menon, music director Harris Jayaraj, art director Rajeevan and editor Antony. Starring Surya, all eyes are on this film to see if the magic of Kaaka Kaaka will be brought back.

The launch party of Vaaranamaayiram, hosted by Gautham Menon and supported by his entire team plus the producers Oscar Films Pvt. Ltd., was held last evening at the Park Sheraton hotel in Chennai.

It was a simple and informal event, where the industry's who's who was there, and a brief speech was given by Gautham about his transition from film to film, the industry which supported him from the first film Minnale, his next film Pachaikili Muthucharam and finally, his newest with Surya, Vaaranamaayiram.

A short video montage was shown, where we could see rushes of Kaaka Kaaka, a sneak peek at Pachaikili Muthucharam and the launch teaser for Vaaranamaayiram showcasing Surya.

Informal though it was, the evening was also star-studded, with many top stars of the industry present. Surya and Harris Jayaraj were, of course, there to welcome everyone with Gautham; also seen were Vijay, Sarath Kumar (looking dashing as ever - and also one of the few people in this industry who always arrives on time!), Asin, Khushboo, director Dharani, dance master Brindha, Kaadhal Sandhya, actress-turned-filmmaker Poongodhai, veteran actress Ambika, Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikant and many more.
