Shankar on Anniyan

Known for his ostentatious projects, Shankar�s latest Anniyan is said to have crossed over Rs. 20 crore in production costs. Shankar�s films are always well guarded secrets. Nobody leaks out any information about the story but in the case of Anniyan, Shankar gives out sketchy details about the movie. He says �whenever we travel to a developed country we are mesmerized by their development, cleanliness and life style. We are often upset as to why our country with all resources has not developed like our western counterparts. What are the reasons and what has to be done to change the situation is told in the form of an interesting story in Anniyan�.

Talking about his lead cast, Shankar says �Vikram is always game for any kind of role. In Anniyan, Vikram�s role is different and new at the same time portrayed in a natural manner. When I see few scenes of the film I am astonished seeing Vikram�s performance. Sada comes as an Iyengar girl.�
