Shankar and his heroines!

Are heroines in Shankar films mere glamour girls? They seem to be there in his films just for the oomph factor and the song �n� dance routine. And the notable fact is that all his heroines were from Bollywood!

Shankar has never been enamoured by South Indian girls as he knows the psychology of mass audience who come to see his big budget extravaganzas. After all, in Dravidian country, the common man is always attracted to fair skinned beautiful girls!

Take Shankar�s heroines- Madhoo of Gentleman, she was Hema Malini�s cousin who was born and brought up in Mumbai. Then it was Nagma in Kathalan followed by Manisha Koirala, a Nepali beauty.

For Jeans, Shankar was successful in roping in Aishwarya Rai the then Ulaga Azhagi and later for his generation next film Boys it was the �Fair & Lovely� model from Mumbai Genelia D�Souza who made her debut in Tamil. And for his latest release Anniyan he had Sada, a Maharastrian girl.

Now for the Rajnikanth magnum opus he has hand-picked Shriya Saran, the Harayanvi girl from New Delhi to be his heroine. So will Shankar ever do a film with a South Indian actress?
