Satyaraj hero, Karthik villain!

Satyaraj�s film factory has launched yet another film titled Sivalingam IPS, a remake of Bharathchandran IPS that Suresh Gopi starrer from Malayalam.

The film will be directed by Raj Kapoor and the highlight of this action film is that Karthik, the lover boy of early 90�s is playing villain for the first time! Liaqat Khan, well-known for his punch line dialogues is the scriptwriter and this police story is about an upright cop who takes on the political kingmaker who controls the state and is hand-in-glove with smugglers and terrorists.

Says Satyaraj: �Sivalingam IPS will be a racy political thriller with no songs, comedy track and a heroine! But at the same time, it will keep the audience engrossed as proved by the success of its original version�.

Added Kartik: �I was very keen to do this villain role as it is a very unusual negative role. The characterisation is fantastic and at the end of the day, it is how effectively the role is portrayed on screen that matters�. Jothirmayi, a little known actress from Malayalam plays the female lead.
