Sanjay Dutt in fresh trouble
In fresh trouble for actor Sanjay Dutt, extradited gangster Abu Salem has confessed having delivered three AK-56 guns, some handgrenades and ammunition at the Bollywood star's house just before 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts.
Salem's confessional statement, which so far was kept in a sealed envelope before designated TADA judge P D Kode, was opened after the CBI filed a supplementary chargesheet against Salem and co-accused Riyaz Siddiqui.
In the 16-page confession statement, recorded on November 20 in front of CBI DIG O P Chatwal, Salem has claimed that he was not aware that the consignment which he brought from Bhiwandi in Thane to Mumbai some days before the blasts was a cache of arms and ammunition.
"I was given an impression that it was smuggled silver which was to be sold later to jewellers in Mumbai," Salem said.
