Richard Gere kisses Shilpa Shetty

AIDS does not spread by kissing. Hollywood actor Richard Gere made this point in quite a demonstrative way by kissing Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty more than once during an AIDS awareness campaign.

The programme called �Seena Taan Ke� was organized in Delhi on Sunday to spread the message of safe sex among truckdrivers, who are considered high-risk groups for contracting the deadly virus.

Dressed casually in a checkered shirt and grey trousers, Richard Gere looked in his elements as he shouted to the hundreds of gathered truckers: �No Condom, No Sex.� The excited truckers repeated Gere�s words loudly.

Shilpa Shetty, dressed in a yellow sari, also urged the truckers to have safe sex.

To clear a common misconception that AIDS can spread by kissing, Richard Gere took the initiative and kissed Shilpa�s hand. But the 58-year-old actor did not stop at that. He then delivered a peck on Shilpa�s cheek. After that he took the actress in his arms and bent over her and gave her a full-blown kiss.

Shilpa did not protest but when she regained her poise, she said: 'yeh thoda zyada ho gaya'.

While a section of the truckers cheered the two actors, some of them appeared offended by the �indecent behaviour� by Gere and Shilpa.
