Prithviraj becomes villain again

Prithviraj has established himself as one of the most promising young heroes in Malayalam. ?Kanaa kandaen? is going to launch him in Tamil. In the film, he plays the role of the villain. There are talks that he had signed up another film in Tamil in which he plays the negative role again.

In Malayalam, Prithviraj plays only the hero's role. Why choose to play negative characters in Tamil?

I don?t differentiate between hero and villain when it comes to selecting roles. I want the role to offer me scope to perform. In the film ?Kanaa Kandaen?, Shrikanth (the hero) plays the role of a man who lives for others. I play the role of a man who believes that others should live to serve him. The role is going to give me a fabulous opening in Tamil.

Will you also be accepting negative roles in Malayalam?

I would love to. Problem is- I don?t get such interesting offers. My father had acted in more than 500 films. Mother and brother have started acting in films. I just want to act in good roles. That?s all.

Prithviraj?s second film in Tamil is going to be directed by Charan, who had previously directed 'Gemini' and 'Vasoolraja MBBS'.
