Pongal Releases

A week before Pongal, the biggest festival of Tamilnadu and the peak time for new releases, the final line up is still not clear. Two biggies Ayya and Tirupachi are sure to release while Dhanush�s Devathaye Kandein, Prashanth�s Ayutham are yet to be confirmed as they have some financial problems to be sorted out before release.

Today 14 vinyl hoardings of Devathaye Kandein have appeared in Chennai city, confirming that the film will release for Pongal but producer Kaja Moideen is yet to settle his dues with the financiers and distributors. There are also rumours that Dhanush�s father-in-law, the superstar has stepped in to sort out the issues as he is keen that the film makes it to the theatres.

Mass Entertainments Ayutham too has some financial problems that will be sorted out before Pongal and the film carries good reports as a fast paced action masala entertainer. For Prashanth, the film is all important as his last film Shock also did reasonably well. Ayutham has already been censored.

Meanwhile the two biggies Ayya and Tirupachi will be censored by this weekend and all business on the film is complete. Ayya is marketed as an emotional family drama while Tirupachi is an all out Vijay mass masala. So this Pongal promises to be exciting.
