No distributors for youth

In a way Malayalam cinema is bleeding! There are no takers for small films with little known stars. Nobody is willing to risk money in either distributing or screening such films which are lying in the cans.

Some of the films which are finding it difficult to release are- Winter, Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, Ninte Ormakayi, Thammil Thammil and many others. Most of these films are being distributed by the producers themselves who are first timers. When these guys approach theatres they were told- "We have already booked Vijay's Aathi and Ajith's Paramasivan!"

Poor guys, they are running from pillar to post trying to release their films, and after a few months they run out of money and go back to the Gulf or whatever they were doing. There are enough star struck guys willing to blow up money on movies!

Meanwhile January is likely to see the release of just two films-Achanurangatha Veedu(Jan12) and Lion (Jan 21). The way it is going the number of releases are going to further drop this year from 59 to around 40!
