Mohanlal upset

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is upset�because his dubbing skills did not pass muster. �I am peeved that the producers of Aran did not use my voice for the dubbed Tamil version of Kirtichakra,� he told.

�Any actor in the world would insist on using his own accent. I had dubbed for Mani Ratnam�s Iruvar in Tamil and, later, for Ram Gopal Varma�s Company in Hindi,� he said. �In this film, I play a Malayali Army officer, which would have been easy for me to dub.�

Sources close to producer R B Chowdary, however, feel that Mohanlal�s statement is baseless because it is the director who decides such issues. (Actor Rajeev did the dubbing.)

But speculation is rife that director Major Ravi�s hands were tied as Chowdary supposedly backed the project to give his son Jeeva a push as an action hero.

The irony is that while Kirtichakra is turning out to be a mega hit in Kerala, Aran has bombed in Tamil Nadu.
