Mohanlal as a Paradeshi

Valiyakathu Moosa is 80. He is a Pakistani national for Government of India and an Indian for Pakistan Government.

Moosa left for Karachi from Kerala during British rule in search of a job. Many came back during the 60's and stay around areas of Malappuram, Pathoor and Thirur without legal documents. Moosa has a wife and children who are Indian citizens, but Moosa is still referred as a Pakistani.

Mohanlal enacts the role of Moosa in P T Kunju Mohammed's Paradeshi. This is P T's third film, the first being Garshom and second Magrib.

"A different and challenging role for Mohanlal and he is best suited for the role," said PT. He prepared the story after meeting many foreigners in India and Pakistan who have no valid documents.

Kavya Madhavan essays the role of a journalist and on a mission of making a documentary on citizenship.

Compared to my earlier films, this would be a commercial film, P T said.

Ramesh Narayanan composes music for the three songs penned by Rafeek Ahamed. M G Sreekumar, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Chitra, Sujatha are the playback singers of the film. K G Jayan handles camera for the film.

The shooting of second schedule of the film would begin in September at Thar deserts in Rajasthan.

Other casts include Sreenivasan, Cochin Haneefa, Vijayaraghavan, Sreeraman, Srinath, Shweta Menon, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and many others.

The film is produced by A & A Productions.
