Majaa Vs Sivakasi battle

The highlight of Diwali-2005 is the battle between Vikram�s Majaa and Vijay�s Sivakasi at the Tamilnadu box-office.

Both the films are crass commercial films aimed at the masses with two heroes who command great openings. And to add fun and keen competition, these superstars films are slated for release on the same day of Diwali (Nov 1) with over 200 prints. Another interesting thing is that Asin is the heroine of both the superstars.

If Nayantara is the item girl of Vijay in Sivakasi(see pic), it is Sindhu Tolani who is doing the item number in Majaa . In audio sales, so far Majaa has a slight edge with �Hey Pangali�� title song sung by Udit Narayan, Tippu, Manicka Vinayagam picturised on Manivannan, Vikram and Pasupati hitting the bulls eye.

But Vijay fans swear that Sivakasi audio is far ahead of Majaa and point out that songs in Vijay films always become popular after the release. Remember that songs of Tirupachi criticized by purists went on to be chartbusters after the film became a blockbuster.

They also point out that the Vaada..Vaada� number in Sivakasi sung by Shankar Mahadevan which is Vijay's introductory song, is sure to rock.
