Lanka & Ravanan destroyed!

What a coincidence that Lanka and Ravanan two films released last week (March 3) have sunk without a trace at the Kerala box-office!

Suresh Gopi�s Lanka with all its glamour will go down as one of his biggest flops as most of the theatres have discontinued the film after one week! In Kottayam Abhilash, the film was hold over on the fourth day and in Chennai�s prestigious Anand theatre the film netted just Rs 1.05 Lakh with the distributor having to shell out another Rs 10,000 to pay the theatre rental!

Ravanan on the other hand had better collections with Trivandrum Ajantha netting Rs 3.40 Lakhs but started falling by the end of the week. But since the film was made on a shoe-string budget (Rs 75 Lakhs) it may recover the cost in long run.

Trade feels that both the film flopped due to lack of good content. Lanka had no story to tell while Ravanan was just another action potboiler with nothing new to offer.
