Critics awards announced
Super star Mohanlal has been chosen for the Kerala Film Critics award for Popular Actor while Dileep and Manoj K Jayan shared the Best Actor award for 2005.
Ananthabhadram, directed by Santhosh Sivan, was adjudged the best film of the year and Kavya Madhavan the best actress for her roles in Ananthabhadram and Seelabathi.
The awards were announced by the office-bearers of the Film Critics Assoication at a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram.
Thespian Thilakan was selected for the coveted Chalachitra Ratna prize.
The producers of the best film would receive Rs 75,000 and the best director Rs 25,000.
Thanmatra directed by Blessy and Paranjutheeratha Viseshangal directed by Harikumar shared the prize for the second best film.
Mohanlal was adjudged the popular actor for his performance in Thanmatra and Naran, he will be presented a gold medal.
Others to win the awards are M G Sreekumar (singer, male) Sujatha (singer, female), M Jayachandran (music director), Santhosh Sivan (cinematography), Aryadan Shaoukat (script) and Ranjan Abraham (editing).
