Court stays `Daivanamathil`

Jayaraj�s much talked about film Daivanamathil release has been stayed by Ernakulam District Court on a petition filed by K.S.Naushad a writer and director.

K.S.Naushad has said in his petition that Daivanamathil has been plagiarized from his story Musalmante Ayodhya. Naushad also says that he has completed almost 60 percent of the shoot of his film and had to abandon the project after he came to know that Aryadan Showkat was producing Daivanamathil with Jayaraj as director with same story!

Those who saw a sneak preview of Daivanamathil was all praise for the film. The story is about how an educated Muslim girl played by Bhavana tries to reform her husband Pritviraj who is influenced by Islamic extremists. The film revolves around the aftermath of the demolition of Babri Masjid and also the Gujarat riots.

Aryadan Showkat however denies the allegation made by Naushad and says that through his lawyers he is trying to vacate the stay and release the film on May 20.
