Ban on women smoking in films!

The Censor Board has received a new order from the Health Ministry. It is surprising that women have not protested against this latest move that is a further suppression of women's rights.

As soon as Anbumani Ramadoss became the health minister, he wanted to ban smoking in films. He felt it would adversely affect youngsters watching their idols smoking on screen. So he tried to ban smoking scenes in films.

This was a new rule in a country where cigarettes are sold openly and people smoked openly. So many organizations protested to this new enforcement and the ban went up in smoke. This did not deter Anbumani Ramadoss and he went on to clarify that only scenes showing women smoking would be banned. This message has been conveyed to the Censor Board from the Health Ministry.

The egoistic male is responsible for male/female discrimination and women have been forced to bear the burden of sacrifice and chastity. The ban on showing women smoking in films only adds to the list.

Will women organizations protest against this latest ruling?
