Asianet Film Awards-2006
Achuvintae Amma was declared the best film while Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine were adjudged the best actor and actress respectively in the eighth Ujala-Asianet Film Awards-2006.
Blessy, director of Thanmathra, won the best director award while Sreenivasan won the best script writer prize for his film Udayanaauu Thaaram.
The best music director award went to M G Radhakrishnan, best lyricist award to Kaithapram Damodharan Namboothri and M G Sreekumar got the best singer award.
Veteran actress Sukumari was selected for a special award for her outstanding contribution to films.
The awards, comprising cash prize and citation, would be presented to the winners at a function to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on March 19, Asianet managing director Madhvaan told reporters after announcing the awards.
