Anushka as Mahesh Babu's sister!

Everybody knows that tall beauty Anushka was recently roped for ace Mani Ratnam's next Tamil-Telugu bilingual with Mahesh Babu and Tamil heroes Vijay and Arya in the lead roles. The Tamil version has been titled Ponniyin Selvan, while Telugu version is yet to be titled.

According to latest reports, Anushka is playing Mahesh Babu's younger sister as well as Vijay's love interest in this film. The director is yet to decide the heroine for Mahesh Babu and is said to be looking for a Bollywood girl opposite Mahesh Babu.

The film is based on the popular Tamil novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' written by Kalki Krishna Murthy. The grapevine has it that Vijay will play the courageous warrior Vallavarayan Vandiyatheyan and Mahesh Babu will play King Aditha Karikalan. The role of Arulmozhi Varman (who later becomes Raja Raja Chozha), which was initially slated to be done by Vikram, will now be played by Arya.

Meanwhile, some reports say that Mahesh Babu will appear in dhotis alone like Ram Charan Teja's getup in Magadheera. So, Mahesh Babu has already started going to the gym to get a toned body, it is said. Notably, Mahesh Babu has never acted without a shirt in any of his earlier movies.
