2006 films start rolling!

Malayalam film industry is on a roll, after last year�s fantastic performance at the box-office. And 2006 also promises to be better, as five new films will start rolling in the first week of January.They are all slated for Vishu 2006 release.

Mammootty's Thuruppu Gulan in which he is paired with his lucky heroine Padmapriya, shoot starts on January 9th.The film is directed by Johnny Antony who did films like CID Moosa and Kochi Rajavu with Dileep. Thuruppu Gulan is said to be a rollicking comedy.

Mohanlal starts his Sathyan Anthikad untitled film at Ottapalam on January 10th. Lal and Sathyan are coming together after 10 years and this film promises to be another comedy-laced satire. Meera Jasmine is his heroine; the others in the cast are Gopi, Innocent and Jagathy. The film has music by Ilayaraaja and releases on April 7th.

Dileep starts work on director Kamal's new film in which he plays a double role. Gopika is his heroine in this racy comedy film with a great twist.

Suresh Gopi 's Chintamani Kolacase directed by his favorite Shaji Kailas, starts on 9th. It is written by A.K Sajan and is a crime- investigative thriller. The film produced by Ranjit will be released for Vishu by Lal creations.

Jayaram has also started work on his Rajasenan comedy, Madhuchandralekha in which he is paired with Urvashi after many years.
