Udayon hits the theatres today

Bhadran takes his own sweet time to complete his films. He takes even longer to release the film. But, this time, it seems Mohanlal has had his say. As announced earlier, 'Udayon' is going to be released today, the 29th of July.

'Udayon' was a project Mohanlal was very eager about. He stars in dual role- the son and the protagonist, an old man. Mohanlal's transformation into the old man is the talk of the industry.

Shooranadu Kunju is the old man and the film's central character- a man who was more attached to his land than he was to his children. Director Bhadran claims that the character was inspired by his own grandfather and some other real-life people he grew up with.

"My grandfather was in agriculture. He used to give more love and affection to his land than to his own kids, my father and his elder brother. He gave 500 acres of land each to his sons in Mangalore and a sum of Rs 10,000 and wanted them to get into farming too," he said.
