Six films to release during Vishu

Vishu is traditionally the best season to release Malayalam films. This year Easter is followed by Vishu and the best of the blockbusters are here.

The Malayalam film industry is warming up for Vishu releases with Mohanlal, Mammootty, Dileep, Jayaram and Prithviraj planning a release each.

But this time films will start releasing from March 18 onwards.

The first film to hit the theatre will be Shafi's Mammootty film Thommanum Makkalum under the banner of Lal Creations on March 18. Rajan P Dev is playing the role of Thomman who has two sons Sivan played by Mammootty and Lal the role of Satyan. Rajan P Dev feels that it is a lifetime role for him who has been typecast as villain these days.

Laya, the leading actress in Kannada and Telugu cinema is making her debut opposite superstar Mammootty in this film. Other casts of the film are Sindhu Menon, Manasa, Salim Kumar, Janardhanan, Ambika Rao and Mohan Jose. This colorful entertainer having importance to humour, music and action will be released in Thiruvananthapuram Sree Padmanabha Theatre and Kavitha Theatre in Ernakulam and other forty centres.

The next one to release will be Johnny Antony's Dileep film Kochi Rajavu. This film produced by R Mohan under the banner of Amit Productions has Kavya Madhvan and Rambha as heroines. Kochi Rajavu is expected to release on March 27 and will be brought to the theatres by Kalyan Release.

Dileep plays the role of Suryanarayana Varma, an auto rickshaw driver who is supported by his cunning grandfather played by ace comedian and character artiste Jagathy Sreekumar. Kavya Madhavan plays the role of Pooja, a medical student. This film will be released in Ernakulam Saritha and Thiruvananthapuram New Theatre.

And in the end of March, Vinayan's Vinayan directed Albhuthadweep which will be distributed by Aroma Films releases. It is an entertaining comedy with Prithviraj and Jagathy being ship wrecked in an island full of Lilliputs. Mallika Kapoor is the heroine. This film will be released in Ajantha Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram.

Renjith's Chandrolsavam has Mohanlal and Meena in the lead roles and will be released on April 13th. This film produced by Santhosh Damodaran under the banner Damor Cinema has script by Renjith. This film will be released in two theatres in Thiruvananthapuram Sree Kumar and Kairali and other forty centres on the same day.

Chandrolsavam is the story of Sreehari for whom music is the world. He lives in Delhi for a while before returning to his hometown. He then goes to Paris and returns to spend time with his beloved ones. Meena plays Indulekha, who gets married to Balachandran, played by Murali Menon. The film also has Kushboo, Samvrutha, Sujatha, Jayakrishnan, Jagadhish, Cochin Haneefa, Sreeraman and many others.

Sibi Malayil's Jayaram film Alice in Wonderland, Sasi Shankar's Sarkardada, Sunderdas' Pauran is getting ready for release. Navya Nair, Laya and Geethu Mohandas play heroine to Jayaram in all the three films.

Rajanikanth's Tamil film Chandramukhi will release in twenty centres in the state during the Vishu season. Other casts include Nayantara, Prabhu, Vadivelu, Nazar, Vineeth, Vijayakumar, Sheela, Jyothika, K R Vijaya, Vinayaprasad and many others. This film will release in Anjali Theatre.

Kamal Hassan's Mumbai Express in Tamil and Hindi will release on April 14th at Kripa Theatre. Manisha Koirala is the heroine of the film.
