Prithviraj turns villain

Prithviraj is all set to break the mould of a soft hero and emerge as a villain in his latest venture to be directed by Mani Ratnam. While most heroes would be worried about losing their women fan base if they turn villains on screen, Prithviraj is going the other direction. His films in Malayalam portray himself as a chocolate hero and hits in Tamil like Parijatham, Mozhi and Sathum Podathey have found him a place in the hearts of women audiences.

Prithviraj started in Tamil as a villain in Kana Kanden and his performance in the movie in a negative role was much appreciated. Mani Ratnam’s first choice for the role is said to be Prithviraj where he will be cast with Abhishek Bachan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram. And when it is Mani Ratnam, actors seldom care whether the role is of a villain or hero.
