Urmila Matondkar is one of the most versatile actresses in Bollywood today. She started her career in the Hindi film industry, as a child artist, and went on to become one of the most talented and sensual actresses. While guys were drooling over her sensual character in Rangeela, they were impressed with her simple portrayal in Satya. Willing to explore every arena, Urmila was also seen in negative roles, in Kaun and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. Whether it be the role of a possessed woman in Bhoot, ruthless avenger in Ek Hasina Thi or item girl in RGV ki Aag, she has always performed with conviction.

Even after starring in so many films, success continued to evade her. It was in 1995 that she got the first hit of her career, with Rangeela, an RGV film.

Rangeela also got her the first Filmfare Best Actress Award nomination. The year 1995 also saw Urmila being a part of Tacholi Varghese Chekavar (Malayalam Film) and Money Money.
