The girl with a Sweet Tender age holding books in her hand and going to school every day. The memorable day in her life is her school anniversary day. She played a goddess role (Amman). All the eye's were becoming alert and concentrating on that girl. Oh! she is the girl and she is RAMBHA! That was the first day she put her Make-up.
The First Entry
Director Hariharan was searching for a heroine for past one year. He approached my brother Mr. Vasu. My brother cooly asked my mother but she refused. My brother told me why don't you take a chance for one film, after that you continue your studies. That was my first film "Sargam ".
Disappointment
Mr. Hariharan called me one fine day, he said the film was a superhit and it has entered in National award and you may get the award or I may get the award. I think the National award is something great in my country and that too in my first film. Unfortunately I didn't get the award, the Director got it. I felt happy in one way. Suddenly one fine day the Director of my first film had called me and said you have got a good news , that you have got a State Award and an invitation to Japan. I was very thankful to the Japanese Government to call me and I was also very thankful to the Kerala Government for giving me the State Award. Unfortunately I didn't attend the Kerala Sate Award, but now I am requesting the Kerala Government to give me the award. After my first film, I have done more than seventy five films ( 75).
The smile is back on the face of Rambha.
For, her directorial debut 'Three Roses' is all set to bloom after being in real danger of wilting.
The film had hit hurdles right from the word go. First, one of the three heroines, Laila, met with a serious accident. That caused postponement of the shooting for over six months.
Then came a flaming row between two heroines, Rambha herself and Jyothika over a trifle. The sulking sirens stalled the shooting schedule for a long time.
As if all this was not enough, the film’s hero Arjun staged a walkout in a huff. He was miffed because the film, basically, was a heroine-oriented one.
Since the 'action hero' hardly had any action to do, he excused himself out of the movie.
However, the ‘thorns’ seem to have been nipped, and the film is almost complete, according to the latest buzz from Tamil filmdom.
The ‘experience’ of making 'Three Roses' seem to have steeled Rambha. So much so the stunner is said to be planning to make another movie titled Eesa, again a heroine-centric flick.
