Panchayat president Gopalan Nair, a man famous for his wickedness wants to start a bus service in his village. The opposition party in the village panchayat is against this idea, as they suspect Nair`s intentions. But he goes forward with the idea.

Gangadharan the biggest bus owner who operates buses even during bandh day sends his bus Padakkuthira to Vamanapuram but it returns without entering the village due to Nair`s scheming idea. This incident anger Gangadharan and he sends his favourite bus conductor and cleaner Lever Johny to Vamanapuram with his bus. From that day onwards the residents of Vamanapuram spent sleepless nights. Though Johny turns violent after drinking in the night he does not remember anything the next day morning. In the daytime he wears dresses which MGR wore in films and imagines himself to be MGR. Mohanlal plays Lever Johny, Jagathy is Nair and Janardhan is opposition leader. Lakshmi Gopalswami is the heroine.

Director Sonu Sisupal had directed Kalachakram and assisted Priyadarshan before. The film planned for one schedule had to be broken because a boil on Lal`s face burst and he could even shave. Apart from this he had to go for the Kochi Star Night show.

The shooting has commenced in Guruvayoor. Also are Jagadhish, Baiju, Nandu, Rajan P Dev, Kottayam Nazir, Raju and many others. Music is by the director himself.
