Directed by Roshan Andrews, Udayanaanu Thaaram is a full length comedy movie by debut director Roshan Andrews and scripted by cine actor Sreenivas. Apart from Mohanlal who plays the lead role, the film also features top comedians like Sreenivasan, Mukesh, Salim Kumar, Cochin Haneefa, Innocent, Indrans etc.
The film also has Meena, Ganesh, T P Madhavan and famous script writer Lohitadas who plays the role of Pratap , a film director.
The story centres around Udayabhanu, the main character in the film whose greatest desire was to become a film director. Udayabhanu grows up into a young man and relocates to Chennai so as to get better exposure. He first decided to study the basics of direction.
He assists many directors, studies the technical side of film direction and even scripts a story but is not able to direct even a single film. But coincidentally he gets a chance to act.
The film is made under the banner of Carlton Film. The film is produced by Karunakaran who produced films like Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala and Narendranmakan Jayakanthanvaka. Deepak Dev composes music for the songs of Kaithapram.
