Sharjah to SharjahCast: Jayaram, Jagadish, Maniyan, Viju, Aiswarya Language: Malayalam Director: Venugopan Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery Music: Mohan Sithara Year: 2001
Unlike other Malyalam actors Jayram has an uncanny knack of mixing comedy with serious situations. This aspect is one of the main reasons for success of his films. This time-tested formula is again implemented effectively in Sharjah To Sharjah which has a stunning combination of both suspense and comedy.
The story revolves round Nandan (Jayaram), the disobedient son of Justice Vishwanathan. Unable to bear the strict attitude of father Nandan leaves to gulf where he grabs a secure employment and set up a comfortable living. Once Nandan decides to return to the native land; but not as the banished cursed Nandan but as an Arabian Prince named Sheikh Jhasim Khalid Kochunni. There was a secret motive in this pretension, which formed the hidden nucleus of the story of the film.
The film in the beginning unravels it's suspense filled story and has employed the usual techniques portrayed in old film involving and investigation into it's affairs that fixed the viewers strongly to their seats.
