Sarkar DadaCast: Jayaram, Navya Nair, Salim Kumar, Harisree Asokan, Cochin Haneefa, Jagdheesh, Kalasala Babu Language: Malayalam Banner: Aparna Cinemas Director: Sasi Shankar Producer: Kalliyoor Sasi Camera: Sanjeev Shankar Lyrics: Beeyar Prasad Music: M.Jayachandran Year: 2005
This long-delayed Jayaram starrer is an all out mass masala entertainer with lots of humour, action, songs and sentiments in the right proportion. Director Sasi Sankar of Kunjikoonan fame has nothing new to offer and on the whole it is a crass comedy aimed at mass audience.
Mukundan Menon (Jayaram) is a three-year-old poor little rich kid who loses in parents in a car accident. The court entrusts the responsibility of bringing up Mukundan and looking after his vast properties to Nambiar (Kalasala Babu), who is their family advocate. But the scheming Nambiar brings up Mukundan as a ‘dada’ who is illiterate and spends a major part of his life in juvenile homes and central jail.
But soon the government finds that there are some irregularities in Nambiar’s management and keeps a receiver to look after the affairs. Sandhya (Navya Nair) is the RDO who is in charge of looking after Mukundan Menon and his assets. How she sets everything right and turnms Mukundan into a responsible man forms the rest of the story.
Jayaram has tried hard to work and rework a role which is tailor-made for him but sadly the script and proceedings are so predictable that he has been wasted. The comedy brigade of Salim Kumar, Harisri Asokan, Jagadhish and Cochin Haneefa try to bring comic relief. Navya is adequate and music is by M.Jayachandran is ok.
