Sahayatrikaikku SnehapoorvamCast: Kunchacko Boban, Kavya Madhavan Language: Malayalam Director: Sankar Producer: V. Varghese Story: Shatrugnan Screenplay: Shatrugnan Dialogue: Shatrugnan Music: Mohan Sithara Year: 2000
The story revolves round Sajin and his friend Maya Sakkariya, who are college-mates. Both are jobless after completing their graduation in journalism. They are the happy go-lucky kind who spend days making merry with their friends - Kottayam Nazeer, Saju, Joby. They decide to try their luck in television serial production. Maya writes the script and Sajin acts as the hero. Sajin`s father, Rajan P Dev agrees to invest money in the project as he himself has cherished a dream of becoming an actor.
But Sajin`s brother, Manianpillai Raju, opposes Sajin`s plans. Sajin and his friends` attempts to evade Sajin`s brother often lead to some comic situations.
As the shooting progresses, Sajin faces the severest challenge of his life. He is passing through the most critical face of his life. His family plunges into a very serious financial crisis. A financier files suit against his father for breach of promise which comes as a bolt from the blue for Sajin. Now, he is badly in need of a job.Responsibility is born out of necessity. His brother somehow manages to gets a state minister to recommend Sajin for an opening as a reporter in a television channel. On the other side, his friend Maya too faces the similar problem. She too comes out as the second claimant for the same post.
Friendship turns into bitter rivalry. The Managing Director falls in a dilemma. He puts forward a solution. Enough time is given to both of them to prove their mettle. The better one would be given the job. They reluctantly take up the challenge.Kunjacko Bohan cuts a sorry figure in the entire drama, as he has nothing to offer than the usual. He struggles throughout to repeat his performance in the super hit film, Niram. Kavya Madhavan looks mature and exuberant. But she has to go a long way to go.
Jagdish and Innocent as television cameramen excel in what they know best - situational comedy, particularly in the second half. Their witty dialogues coupled with characteristic mannerisms come as the only saving grace for the film.Narendraprasad`s character is type cast. He is a painter who is in the way of self-destruction due to excessive drinking. He goes out without making any impact. The director tries to introduce a dramatic turn in the climax. But it fails to click for him, as a climax is predictable in the end of the very first half.
