Mollywood script writers for detective movies and investigative thrillers seems to be writing the screenplay in the opposite direction. They first zero in on the least susceptible person in the plot, create a reason for him to engage in a murder and then write backwards giving no clues to the viewer. As usual, the most successful makers of suspense-mystery movies in Mollywood, K Madhu and S N Swamy has stick to this formula and succeeded so far in masking the real culprit under cover till the last minute. Apart from that thread which questions the logic of audience, it is harder to sit through the movie until it reaches this messy climax. With nothing fresh to offer, this Jayaram starer packs him in twin roles, both lacking clarity and character.

The movie is set in a rural background, in a village called Paravathypuram where Parambathu Raju a political bigwig and Kaimal, the two feudal lords are on constant fight over everything including the rights for conducting temple festivals. S I Rajan (Jayaram), who is in charge of the local police station gets a man missing case and soon finds the corpse of the girl, who is one of his sister's friends, from a deep valley. .The whole incident took place on the same night when the dangerously smart thief Keshu (Riyaz Khan), whom was arrested by Rajan earlier, escaped from the lock-up. Kaimal uses the chance to frame a case against Raju and sends him behind bars. The second Jayaram, in a different hairdo and makeup lands as Chalamani, a goonda chief and announces that he is there to save Raju from prison. Any one who has been with the genre earlier will immediately recognize the cause of Chalamani avatar, in a very short while. And what follows is that regular formulaic presentations, but with a different actor other than Mammootty and Suresh Gopi.

The film is old fashioned to the core with nothing to make us engaging other the suspense element, which also falls flat once it is cleared off. With no real plot twists and gear changes, the script of the movie offer a lot of implausibility and is overly coincidental to the degree, offering nothing that is really genuine or affective.

Jayaram' seems to be once again repeating the flaws that he had in selecting good roles as both these characters have nothing good or memorable to offer to the actor. The five lead ladies of the story including Samvrutha Sunil, Sindhu Menon, Managala, Shivani and Ananya have nothing mentionable to do. The long line of comedians in the movie from Suraj Venjaramoodu and Harishree Ashokan to Indrans and Mala Aravindhan sticks to repeat their humour mannerisms and sequences that they had been to, for quite some time. And even in the technical side, the film doesn't offer much to cherish.

All in all, this is a very familiar dish that is not even cooked well. If you are not a big fan of Jayaram, just do yourself a favor. Rent some of the mystery classics and have a re watch instead of trashing your two hours on this insipid adventure.
