Ananthan Thampy played by Mohanlal is a middle aged who has decided never to marry. He thinks he will loose all his youthfulness and pleasing looks by marriage. His main hobby is body building and he prefers to be a chronic bachelor. His sister Nirmala(Bindu Panicker) and her husband Venugopalan(Jagathy) are happy about this decision eying on the huge properties of Thampi. But the fate has some other scenario for Ananthan Thampy. The beautiful Ganga(Meena) and family comes to stay in neighborhood. Ananthan Thampy is nervous first and furious next. One day a guy, Aravindan comes and pleads with Thampi for a job in his cable company. Thampi mistakes Aravindan to be Ganga’s lover and promises him to help him marry her. But soon Aravindan goes away to join the army and Thampi and his men sabotage all marriage proposals of Ganga. But soon Thampi is forced by his parents and the teacher to marry Ganga. What happens when Aravindan comes back forms the climax of the film.

Another average movie of Mohanlal after Chathurangam and Mr.Brahmachari is not going to do any good for Mohanlal's career. He has to be more selective in his roles to stay on top with Dileep and the other youngsters. Jagathy had a better role to show something on the screen. The Supporting cast has Nedumudy Venu, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, K.R.Vijaya, Jagatheesh, Premkumar, Manoj.K.Jayan, Kalpana and Sindhu Menon.The script is by J.Pallasery and the camera is by Venugopal. Mohan Sitara tunes the songs penned by Gireesh Puthencherry.
