Manasellam

Language: Tamil
Banner: Oscar Films
Director: Santhosh
Music: Illayaraja

After the debut of Srikanth in 'Roja Kootam' with the Oscar films, this is yet another movie under the same banner being paired with Trisha. Trisha, unlike her short role in 'Mounam Pesiyathey' snatches everyone's attention with her flashing smile.

Srikanth has delivered his role very comfortably and carries the movie elegantly proving to find his hand over all type of roles and now rolling to reels, Bala (Srikanth) finds a way from his hometown to Chennai in a search of a job when he misses his possessions and gets shelter under a roof to join a group of bachelors. He finds a hard time with the members as they don't get along with him easily and in turn puts Bala in trouble. Incidents crumble when two of his inmates try to create a center of attention for a girl, Malar (Trisha) who stays opposite to them. They try all the naughtiest wayward under Bala's name and her brothers mistake Bala and mobs him. The story finds a turn when Bala tells the inmates that he needs no focus from that girl as they know each other and opens up the past. Bala and Malar are lovers, Bala is successful in convincing his parents and when it is the turn of Malar things get reverted as her sister who lay victim of such affairs leaves off the house for which her parents pay no compromise.

In the same count Malar's life span is predicted as she ends up in an accident while saving Bala from a life or death situation. As requested by Malar, Bala stays near her house to have a glimpse of his ladylove till her last breath. The rest is assured with the climax that Bala hesitates to see her lover dying in pain leaving us to sob in the scene when Bala makes an impact while he counts his feeling for Malar.
