Kadhalna Summa Illai, a remake of the Telugu super hit Gamyam is the production debut of Raj Television Network. The film deals with the experiences gained by a wealthy youth when he embarks upon a search to find his lover.

Abi (Sharvanand) is the only son of a wealthy man, a sole heir to a rich family. Brought up in a protective environment, Abi knows very little about life. He is carefree and lives with on the presumption that money is the most important thing in life; he believes he can achieve and acquire anything in the world using his inherited wealth. The inexperienced youngster knows nothing about the difficulties and hardships in life and spends his time surrendering to his youthful desires. When Abi meets Dr. Janaki (Kamalinee Mukherjee), he takes an instant liking to her. Janaki, an orphan who has gone through a lot of ordeals in life, is a purely service-minded individual passionate towards her profession.

Though she recognizes Abi's interest in her, she is unsure of the strength of his affection and so she does not reciprocate it. Abi's ego is provoked when Janakis ignores his romantic overtures. Considering it as another opportunity to evoke fun, Abi challenges his friends that he would propose to Janaki and make her accept his proposal. Going by his plan, Abi proposes to Janaki and when she is on the verge of accepting it, she discovers the truth. Feeling cheated, she gives up her job at the hospital and leaves the city. Initially Janaki's decision does not offend Abi, but with the passage of time, he begins to realize her absence and the profound void it has created in his life. So, leaving his riches, friends and family behind, he goes in search of true love and his dear lover.

While on his journey, Abi meets Velu (Ravi Krishna) another young man. Though not a rich man like Abi, Velu too does not have any firm ideals and ambitions in life; he whiles away his time in useless pursuits. Velu and Abi become friends on their first meeting; Abi narrates his story and search to Velu. Moved by the poignant tale, Velu decides to help him. Both continue the journey and go through good and bad. Each and every experience teaches Abi and Velu some worthy lessons. So what happens finally? Do Velu and Abi succeed in finding Janaki? Director Illankannan has used the strong storyline as a starting point for the success of this remake. Newcomer Sharvanand has done his best as an aimless youth and forlorn lover. Ravi Krishna's performance is highlighted by Illankannan's sensible dialogues. The upcoming hero puts up a good show delivering them with ample emotion. Kamalinee Mukherjee too has offered a good performance. Music is by the flourishing trio Vidyasagar-Mani Sharma- E.S. Moorthy. 'Ennamo Seidhaai Nee' is the chart-topper in the film's album.

Kadhalna Summa Illai is a truly impacting film that is sure to impress the audiences.
