Jubilee is a film that is best avoided. That is exactly what you feel once you get into the theatre. You'll also feel that Jubilee is a film that the makers themselves could very well have avoided making, for it does no good to anybody on any count. A sheer waste of time, money and everything else - that's what Jubilee is.

Of Kora Sahib's seven children, two were sons and the remaining five were daughters. Of the sons, the elder one is Anto. The younger one Joji, is known by all as Jubilee, since he was born after his father celebrated his Golden Jubilee year. Kora Sahib has a special affection for Joji. Anto and his wife Jancy never care to do anything to support Kora Sahib.

Joji, who has a craze for automobiles, dreams of setting up a garage. But for lack of funds he is not able to do it. Even Kora Sahib finds himself in dire straits, unable to marry off his granddaughter Sicily due to financial constraints. And then Anto and Jancy, who are always supported by Jancy's father, decide to give Rs. 200,000 to Kora Sahib. In the mean time, Joji becomes the main suspect in a murder case, and things take a new twist for him and his family. What all happens consequent to this forms the rest of the plot.

Saiju Kurup in the title role is simply insufferable. Innocent too cuts a poor figure as Kora Sahib. Saadique as Anto and Bindu Panicker as Jancy too fail to impress. Almost all the members of the cast are unimpressive, except perhaps Jagathy Sreekumar in the role of Joji's friend who runs a mobile mortuary unit. Salim Kumar, Anoop Chandran and Machchan Verghese have nothing at all to do in the film. The heroine Manasa too is a let down. Manoj K. Jayan in a guest role as a Police Officer makes no impression. Technical aspects are just so so. Of the songs "Piriyathini vayya..." has come out well, while all the rest are unimpressive. In total Gee George's debut directorial venture turns out to be something that has gone completely off the tracks.
