The most difficult part of a climb is reaching heights. Only determined and focused persons can achieve success. Prasanthís long wait has now paid off as Jambavan. Director Nanda Kumar should be congratulated for giving a gripping storyline, good visuals and neat background score.

The story is simple but its narration makes it interesting. It is all about a youth Velan (Prasanth), whose life undergoes lots of changes due to rowdyism. The story starts with the peaceful life of Velan with his parents (Vijaya Kumar). During that time, love blooms between him and Ezhil (Nila). Meanwhile, Velan has some controversies with a mill-owner. Circumstances forces Velanís father to tell the truth that Velan is their foster son. (No, the story does not resemble Arunachalam after this point.)

Velan comes to Chennai to know about his past. He comes to know that his whole family was killed by a dreaded gangster named Deva (Pepsi Vijayan). In that past life, he loved Anu (Mehna Naidu). He forgets his past life after a fight with Deva. Velan plans to take revenge uner the name Jambavan. What happened to Anu? Will he marry Ezhil? Who wins at last, Deva or Velan? The climax unfolds in the end.

Prasanth as Jambavan is impressive. He has underplayed his role. His body language and mannerisms deserve special mention. Nila and Mehna Naidu, playing Velanís ladyloves, have given good performances. Pepsi Vijayan has done a impressive role as a typical gangster.

Bhardwaj has impressed with his tines and background score. Director Nanda Kumar has fulfilled the audience's expectations.

Jambavan is an action-mixed sentimental movie.
