GajaCast: V.N.R, Akshaya Language: Tamil Banner: Rajasri Films International Director: A.R. Ganapathy Producer: Neelaya Dakshayani Story: A.R. Ganapathy Screenplay: A.R. Ganapathy Dialogue: A.R. Ganapathy Music: Mani Sharma Year: 2009
Debutant director Ganapathy has treaded a path that is cliched while trying to drive home the message—don’t lust for another man’s wife. The movie, while preaching moral values, comes out with loads of sleaze in an apparent bid to woo the ‘target audience’.
Newcomer Gaja (VNR) plays a dual role in his first attempt itself—that of a hero and anti-hero. The negative role, as you would have expected, drinks, gambles and above all, has the habit of lusting after married women.
Gaja (VNR) works for a finance company. After winning the confidence of his manager, Gaja misbehaves with his wife. Enters another manager Ganesh (VNR), who resembles Gaja. His newly married wife Pooja (Akshaya) comes to know of Gaja’s intentions on her. After a sequence of events, Ganesh too comes to know of Gaja’s intentions. What’s next forms the climax.
Akshaya plays a timid and a frightened wife, while VNR occupies the screen most of the time. Bhuvaneswari is there to add glamour quotient.
The music director has recycled one of popular MGR’s song in the movie. Produced by Rajshree International, the movie has overdose of sleaze, in the guise of conveying a message.
