Fool N Final has endless plots and sub plots which make the story complicated and confusing to understand. The script is also illogical and defies rationality and it’s not a novel storyline. The look of the film is rich and director Ahmed Khan tries to adopt a new kind of execution which involves giving the film a comic book approach which is colourful and vibrant. However overall the story has too many characters, too many parallel sub plots and this confuses the audiences. The film is based on a heist or robbery of diamonds which everyone wants to lay their hands on. The film ends up as a hotchpotch mix of bollywood masala but does not entertain the audiences. A below average film that has a weak script, provides comic relief in bits and pieces and has a confusing screenplay.

The film belongs to the comedy genre and has been produced by Firoz Nadiadwala and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film stars Shahid Kapur, Ayesha Takia, Vivek Oberoi, Arbaaz Khan, Sunny Deol, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever, Chunkey Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Sharmilla Tagore, Om Puri, Sameera Reddy, Gulshan Grover etc. The story has been written by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Vora and the screenplay has been done by Umesh and Abbas. The music for the film has been scored by Himesh Reshammiya.

The plot revolves around diamonds that have been stolen and sold to an underworld Don in Dubai. Several other small time con artists like Shahid, Ayesha etc get involved and try to get their hands on the diamonds. Other underworld dons in Dubai like Arbaaz Khan and Zakir Husain get involved in smuggling the diamonds and organizing fighting matches. Eventually who will get the coveted diamonds?

The script is weak as the plot is often illogical and the screenplay too unfolds with too many sub plots confusing the viewers. The writing by Neeraj Vora and Anurag is amateur and the screenplay tries to incorporate everything including action, comedy, and song and dance but in doing so it goes overboard. The film is a comedy jaunt; however it provides comic relief only in bits and pieces such as the portions between Paresh Rawal and Johny Lever. The rest of the time the comedy seems forced.

Director Ahmed Khan’s execution of the material too comes across as a sequence of dances, songs, action and chases. He has however managed to give the film a polished rich look with vibrant colours and his idea of the comic book characters is fine. Very few sub plots in the film manage to hold the viewers attention. The director is unable to do justice to any of the plots because there are too many and neither do any of the characters get enough scope as there are too many.

The music by Reshammiya is good and tracks like ‘Shakira Ve’ and ‘Tere Laye’ are pleasant sounding and the choreography too is good. The songs also have a lot of colour and vibrancy. Cinematography is good and there is again a lot of colour depicted in the background locales of Dubai. Overall the film looks rich. Dialogues are fine. Unfortunately the rich look of the film does not manage to camouflage the feeble script, uninspiring screenplay and the illogical storyline. The performances too are barely average due to the poor scope. Shahid is average in his performance, Ayesha Takia does not have much to do and only provides eye candy, Vivek Oberoi too does not have a meaty role, Sunny Deol does not make much of a mark, Chunkey Pandey and Arbaaz Khan are just average, Sameera Reddy and Sharmilla Tagore are barely there, Jackie Shroff gets lost in the crowd. Paresh Rawal and Johny Lever have done similar roles but nonetheless they manage to give a fairly good performance.

Fool N Final even as mindless comic caper is a letdown as it simply comes across as forced and silly. At the box-office it may get a fare response as a mindless comic caper at first, but even then it may prove disastrous. A below average film that is fairly disappointing.
