Raghavan (Sarath Kumar) is a cook in a local Chennai restaurant. Velu (Vadivel), a co- worker is his friend. He falls for a mod rich girl Geetha (Kiran) studying computers. He goes behind wherever she goes and confesses his love. At one stage Geetha also gives in. All of a sudden her father (Vijayan) appears before the couple and opposes their love pointing out their status difference. Raghavan takes a challenge that he will work hard and become a millionaire within a year and marry Geetha! This is the first part of the story.
The story then moves to a village in Tirunelveli where four rich landlord brothers bring up a girl Aishwarya (Sharmilee), the only girl child of the entire family like a princess. She is a pampered child. They fix up her wedding with a US based engineer and the girl elopes with the driver. Coincidentally the lovers land up opposite to Raghavan's flat in Chennai. The driver fearing Aishwarya's uncles, leaves her alone and runs away from that place. After hearing her story Raghavan takes the responsibility of getting the girl back to her place and he sets out to Tirunelveli. While traveling he meets Manorama and comes to know of his birth and that he is the grandson of the local bigwig Doraisingam (Sarath Kumar) who lands up in jail and dies because of a crude politician Kandhavelu (JPR). Now the rest of the story is how Raghavan takes the mission of his grandpa, restores peace in his native land, hands over Aishwarya back to their family and then gets married to Geetha.
As far as production values go, there has been no dearth of resources invested, with a lot of care and attention being shown in all aspects. Two of the songs have been shot in foreign locales and even though Kiran's role is limited, she adds that dab of glamour. Sharmilee has lots of room for improvement. The recycle master S.A.Rajkumar tunes are not beyond the ordinary. Kanal Kannan has adopted Matrix Re loaded style of fights. The storyline is not a new one and maybe that has limited director Surya Prakash. As in all movies where he essays dual roles, Sarath carries the movie all by himself.
