Directed by debutant Raj Pendurkar, 'Bombay To Goa' assures to be an engaging, exciting and lively ride. Roping in Laughter Challenge finalists like Sunil Pal, Raju Shrivastava and Ehsaan Quresh along with comic actors from Bollywood like Vijay Raaz, Asrani, Jagdeep, Paintal and Jr. Mehmood, this bus journey stands out and promises to be a laugh riot.
The movie revolves basically around two friends Lal [Sunil Pal] and Das [Vijay Raaz]. Lal dreams of becoming a big name someday and hopes to start a business. While Das who worked as a driver, in spite of the meager income he gets, chucks his job since he couldn't stand his irritating boss.
Luck shines on Lal and he wins Rs.2 lakh in a contest and both friends decide to start a business. Das suggests that they start a travel agency but it demands more money. They purchase spare parts of old and imported cars and make a bus that would run from Mumbai to Goa. By offering discounts and best bus service, Lal manages to book 15 to 16 passengers for the bus. The finally arrives but it is in bad shape and so the passengers demand their money back. After a lot of persuasion the journey begins...
Director Raj Pendurkar has executed a few scenes quite well. Few sequences are well written, excuted and edited and they succeed in tickling your bone, while others simply fail to make an impact. The length of the movie is huge negative here. Some portions need to be chopped off immediately for better impact. Cinematography and music score are satisfactory.
Now the performances of the comedians. Raju Shrivastava excels. Sanjay Mishra and Sunil Pal are great. Sudhir Pandey, Vijay Raaz and Asif Sheikh pull of their roles exceptionally well. Shakti Kapoor, Tinnu Anand and Asrani are decent.
Overall, Bombay to Goa is a decent entertainer. But the length of the film could go against it. The Great Indian laughter challenge finalists are in form and they make the movie worth a watch.
At the boxoffice, the collections should be better in single screens in the interiors of India while a lukewarm opening is expected at the multiplexes.
