Arivazhagan (Sathyaraj) and Pazhani (Vadivelu) are colleagues. Arivu is an orphan brought up by an old couple (Senthil & Vadivukkarasi) and he accepts them as grandparents. Arivu is a bachelor and has got certain goals in life. Pazhani on the other hand is married and lives in a hut with his wife Govindammal (Kalpana) and five children without any aim in life. While Arivu wants an educated working girl, his grand parents get him married off to an illiterate village girl Angalaparameswari (Meena) hiding the truth. Pazhani takes the vexed Arivu to a whore house where he is a frequent visitor and there Arivu meets Mantra (Mantra), who became a prostitute by accident. After making so many compromises he decides to live with Eshwari on one condition that they will have their first child only after 2 years and that he wants to build his dream house. Since Eshwari only pretends to take the birth control tablets given by Arivu, she becomes pregnant soon. Arivu gets angry and decides to leave the house along with Pazhani to teach Eswari and his grand parents a lesson. Now the story moves to Ooty where the duo goes to meet Mantra and when their wives come to know of it, follow them. How Eswari unites with her husband forms the rest of the story.

The whole film looks like a stage play and all the characters speak lengthy dialogues, testing ones patience.In this age of technical advancement the director V.Shekar takes us forty years back with his story and screenplay. Age has caught up with Sathyaraj and its high time he stopped running around trees singing and dancing duet songs. There is nothing Meena does by way of acting. Why can’t someone teach Vadivelu not to damage the audience’s eardrum? He is so loud and irritating. There is no continuity in the story. The recycled tunes of S.A.Rajkumar are average.
