Trisha overtakes Nayantara

Intense competition was on between Nayantara and Trisha over remunerations. The competition began in Tamil and has now switched to Telugu.

Nayantara had made a cool Rs 75 Lakhs with her recent releases in Telugu. For a while, Trisha's career was on a low, but she has bounced back fabulously with the film in which she had starred with Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi.

According to rumors, she had made a massive Rs 1 Crore! Of course, it still is a rumor.

But, Trisha has now replaced Nayantara as the highest paid actress in Tollywood.

Following the examples of these heroines, even relative newcomers have started to demand such huge salaries. Ileana, who is a recent entrant in Telugu cinemas, recently asked for Rs 75 lakhs but was refused. It wouldn't however be long before some other producer agrees to pay her that kind of money to get her callsheets.
