Iruvar (The Twosome � The Duo) (1997) is a Tamil film directed by Mani Ratnam.The film's score and soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman.

The film traces the lives of 1980's Tamil Nadu political rivals M. G. Ramachandran and M. Karunanidhi. Upon release, it earned a strong critical reception and is also critically considered by some to be one of Mani Ratnam's best films to date.

Mohanlal and Prakash Raj played lead roles in the film. The film also saw the movie debut of Aishwarya Rai, a famous Indian model and actress. It was subsequently dubbed in Telugu under the title Iddaru.

The story revolves around a struggling actor Anandan (Mohanlal) who is befriended by anupcoming grassroots leader and screenwriter Thamilchelvam (Prakash Raj). As Anandan grows in popularity, his reputation becomes instrumental in helping Thamilchelvam and his party's publicity machine, to woo potential voters for the upcoming elections. However, after the death of the party's leader Annadurai (Nasser), both Anandan and Thamilchelvam find themselves in contention for the party's top position, and an inevitable fallout results. The cinematography of the film is handled by Santosh Sivan.
