Hrithik Roshan as Akbar The Great

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan , after playing a super hero in Krrish and a super thief in Dhoom 2 is ready to don the role of an emperor for Jodhaa Akbar opposite the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

As the first trailer of �Jodhaa Akbar� hit screens across the country, it was not just fans but the actor himself was excited.

"Trailer is just out and it has garnered a good response and I just hope that the film is also appreciated just as much. Rest will unfold with time and you all will know," said Hrithik.

Ashutosh Gowarikar unveiled his film Jodhaa Akbar�s trailer exclusively for the media on October 10.

Post �Dhoom 2�, Hrithik suddenly going the Mughal way was a little difficult to digest. From sporting low waist jeans and a bare chest to becoming the Mughal emperor Akbar, Hrithik�s transformation took all by surprise.

Of course he looked dashing, which he always does, but would he be able to portray Akbar the emperor with the same panache the way Prithviraj Kapoor did in �Mughal-E-Azam�?

Gowarikar gave the reply, �I�ve not tried to outdo �Mughal-E-Azam� in this film. That film is a classic and is beyond compare. Also I regard Prithviraj Kapoor as the finest actors of Indian cinema and what he has done in �Mughal-E-Azam� will stay in our hearts forever. However Hrithik cannot be compared to Prithviraj Kapoor as he has played young Akbar in the film unlike Prithviraj Kapoor who played an ageing Akbar.�

�There is no Salim and Anarkali in my film either�, he added. As far as Hrithik�s looks are concerned, we have designed outfits that compliment his looks. So there is no chance that he will not look out of place in the film as many fear.�

So let's wait for January when a new emperor will be ready to storm the scene.
