Gopika- the Onam star this year
With two releases this season, Gopika becomes the heroine of this year's Onam celebrations.
Tulasidas had first introduced her in 'Pranayamanithooval'. The film bombed at the box office and Gopika's career met with similar fate. But, right now she is one of the leading heroines of south-Indian films.
Gopika has managed to do something that not even Nayantara has accomplished- strike a balance among three languages- Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. She stars as the heroine of 2 Malayalam films this season- 'Chaandupottu' and 'Naerariyaan CBI'. She has plenty of films in Tamil and she has had three consecutive hits in Telugu!
Unlike other heroines from Kerala who have made it big in other languages, Gopika didn't sacrifice her offers in Malayalam either. This girl from Trissur has come a long way.
