Dileep-Kavya in New Zealand!

In the golden age of Malayalam cinema (70�s and 80�s) there was a craze among the audience for spotting the most romantic pair. The eternal favourite used to be Prem Nazir-Sheela, later it was Madhu-Sheela, Soman-Jayabharathi, Jayan-Seema, Mammootty-Suhasini, Mohanlal- Sobhana and Jayaram-Urvasi.

But with the end of the romantic age in Malayalam films (somewhere around 1997) and the emerge of superstar system, romantic pairs died out. Now, in superstar films heroines have been relegated to a glamour lady who secretly admires and lust after the hero. Still, the most romantic pair in modern times is undoubtedly Dileep and Kavya Madhavan. They have been paired in 11 films from Chandranudikkuna Dilkkil (2000) to Kochi Rajavu (2005).

Most of the film they did together were blockbusters like Tenkasipattanam, Meesa Mdhavan, Thilakkam and Runway. And some of the most romantic songs in recent times were picturised on this pair. The on-screen chemistry between the pair makes them the hottest pair in Malayalam.

Now this �fine pair� is back with Lion their 12th film together. Last week the �lucky pair� of Malayalam films, quietly took off to New Zealand to picturise a romantic �dream honeymoon song� for Lion. It is one location where no other Malayalam film pair has travelled to!
