Dileep adjudged best actor

The Kerala Film Critics� Association has played a major role in encouraging up-coming artistes in the State, the Minister for Tourism, K.C. Venugopal, said after inaugurating the `28th Kaveri film critics� award nite' organized by the association at University Senate hall. The Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, T.K.A. Nair, who gave away the awards, said that the breathtaking changes in the field of technology had influenced the entertainment world. "Infotainment is the rage of the day. Information and technology go hand in hand," he said. "With 45 years of experience outside the State, I can say with confidence that Kerala is leading the country when it comes to areas relating to art, literature or culture." He said that he was surprised at the invitation from the association members to give away the awards as he had no association with the film world.

Dileep received the award for best actor for the film, Kathavasheshan. Kavya Madhavan won the best actress award for Perumazhakkalam. Mamukoya received the award for second best actor for his role in Perumazhakkalam. The directors Kamal and Blessy received the awards for Perumazhakkalam and Kazhcha respectively.
